DesignRigs ("DesignRigs", "we", "us", or "our") develops and operates RigsDesk, a Chrome extension that provides a desktop style interface for managing and organizing Chrome bookmarks.
We respect your privacy and are committed to keeping the information we collect to the minimum necessary to provide RigsDesk, manage accounts, and provide license access.
This Privacy Policy explains what information RigsDesk collects, what we do with it, where it is stored, and what we do not collect.
By using RigsDesk, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
RigsDesk is designed to collect and store as little personal information as possible.
The information associated with a RigsDesk account is limited to:
- Email address
- Account creation date
- Stripe payment reference (stripe_payment_id), when a purchase has been made
We do not intentionally collect or store additional personal information unless it is necessary to provide the service or required by law.
Your Chrome Bookmarks
RigsDesk does not upload your Chrome bookmarks to DesignRigs servers.
RigsDesk accesses your existing Chrome bookmarks through Chrome's bookmark system so that you can view, organize, move, rename, create, and delete them.
Your bookmarks remain part of your Chrome browser and Chrome's own bookmark synchronization system.
We do not maintain a separate online copy of your bookmark library.
2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
RigsDesk stores certain information locally through Chrome's extension storage.
This may include:
- Folder and bookmark colors
- Favorites
- Recently used information
- Bookmark arrangement and positions
- Workspace layout preferences
- Theme preferences
- Font preferences
- Icon size and spacing preferences
- Text size preferences
- Wallpaper
- Custom folder icons
- Other RigsDesk personalization settings
This information is used to provide the RigsDesk experience on your device.
This locally stored information is not uploaded to DesignRigs servers as part of your RigsDesk account.
Because this information is stored locally, DesignRigs does not maintain a backup of it.
3. Your Responsibility for Your Bookmarks
RigsDesk works directly with your actual Chrome bookmarks.
When you create, rename, move, reorganize, or delete a bookmark or folder in RigsDesk, you are modifying your actual Chrome bookmarks.
RigsDesk does not maintain a backup or recovery copy of your bookmarks.
If you accidentally delete a bookmark or folder, DesignRigs may not be able to restore it.
You are responsible for managing and protecting your own bookmarks and for maintaining any backups you consider necessary.
RigsDesk does not guarantee that deleted, modified, or lost bookmarks can be recovered.
Chrome's own bookmark synchronization and recovery features, where available, are controlled by Google and are outside of DesignRigs' control.
4. Authentication and Account Information
RigsDesk uses third party authentication services to provide account registration and sign in.
Authentication may be provided through:
- Auth0
- Supabase
When you create or access a RigsDesk account, your email address may be processed by these services as necessary to authenticate your account.
RigsDesk does not store your Google password or other third party authentication credentials.
Your authentication session may be stored locally on your device so that you do not need to sign in every time you use RigsDesk.
5. Payment Information
RigsDesk is available through a one time purchase.
Payments are processed through Stripe.
When you purchase RigsDesk, payment information is entered and processed through Stripe's secure payment infrastructure.
DesignRigs does not receive, store, or process your full credit card number, card security code, or other complete payment card details.
DesignRigs stores only the payment reference necessary to associate a successful purchase with your RigsDesk account.
This may include a Stripe payment identifier such as stripe_payment_id.
Stripe may collect and process payment information according to its own privacy policy and terms.
6. License and Access Information
RigsDesk may periodically check your account status to determine whether your account is:
- In the free trial
- Paid and unlocked
- Free
- Otherwise eligible to use RigsDesk
The result of this access check may be stored locally so that RigsDesk does not need to repeatedly contact our servers.
This information is used solely to provide and manage access to RigsDesk.
7. No Bookmark Tracking
RigsDesk does not upload your bookmark library to our servers.
We do not build a server side database of:
- Your bookmark names
- Your bookmark URLs
- Your bookmark folders
- Your bookmark organization
- Your bookmark contents
Your bookmarks remain within Chrome.
RigsDesk's search functionality operates against the bookmark information available within your browser.
8. Recently Used Bookmarks
RigsDesk provides a "Recently Used" feature.
Information required for this feature is stored locally within Chrome's extension storage.
DesignRigs does not use this information to build a profile of your browsing activity.
RigsDesk does not sell, share, or provide your browsing activity to advertisers or other third parties.
9. Favicons
RigsDesk displays website favicons to make bookmarks easier to recognize.
Favicons may be obtained through Chrome's built in favicon functionality.
RigsDesk does not create a separate database of your browsing history or bookmark activity for the purpose of tracking you.
10. No Tracking or Advertising
RigsDesk does not use advertising trackers.
We do not use RigsDesk to:
- Track users across websites
- Monitor browsing behavior for advertising
- Build advertising profiles
- Sell user information
- Display targeted advertisements
- Sell or rent personal information to third parties
RigsDesk is designed as a paid productivity tool rather than an advertising supported service.
11. Information We Do Not Collect
RigsDesk does not intentionally collect:
- Browsing history
- Website history
- Search history
- Website content
- Mouse movements
- Keystrokes
- Location information
- Health information
- Personal communications
- Contacts

- Credit card numbers
- Credit card security codes

Used for authentication and account access.
Supabase
Used for backend services and account related data.

14. Legal Requirements
We may disclose limited information if we reasonably believe that disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law
- Respond to a valid legal request
- Protect the rights or property of DesignRigs
- Investigate fraud or abuse
- Protect the security of RigsDesk or its users

Any disclosure will be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

Your account information may include:
- Email address
- Account creation date
- Stripe payment reference
If you delete your RigsDesk account, we will request deletion of the account information associated with your account, subject to information that we may be required to retain for legal, security, fraud prevention, accounting, or other legitimate purposes.
Your Chrome bookmarks are separate from your RigsDesk account and are not deleted when you delete your RigsDesk account.
16. Deleting Your Account
You may request deletion of your RigsDesk account through the account controls provided within RigsDesk or by contacting us.
When your account is deleted, your RigsDesk account information will be deleted or scheduled for deletion as appropriate.
Deleting your RigsDesk account does not delete your Chrome bookmarks.
Your bookmarks belong to your Chrome browser and remain under your control.
17. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we process.
However, no internet based service, database, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You acknowledge that transmission and storage of information online carries some inherent risk.
We do not guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure can never occur.
18. Children's Privacy
RigsDesk is not specifically directed toward children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising, profiling, or other unrelated purposes.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate authorization, please contact us so that we can review and take appropriate action.
19. Third Party Services
RigsDesk may rely on third party services to provide authentication, backend functionality, and payment processing.
Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
DesignRigs is not responsible for the privacy practices, security practices, or availability of third party services.
Third party services may change their policies or functionality independently of DesignRigs.
20. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
Where appropriate, we may also provide additional notice through RigsDesk or our website.
Your continued use of RigsDesk after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
